The Race Shop aka Dragsters and Doorslammers is a chassis shop specializing in drag race and Pro Street cars. We have experience building cars for street and strip that date back to the 60's and have been in this location for about five years.  We have built Top Sportsman and Dragster class cars as well as Top Fuel, Nostalgia and Funny cars. We fabricate all aspects of the race car.  Most cars are Chromoly and we bend all our own bars and fabricate all tin work in house.  We build rears ends, Ford 9", that are as tough as any available anywhere.  Cars we have built range from 5.5 sec quarter mile to 13 seconds.

The Race Shop is a new introduction for 2007 that has been in the planning for three years. Charlie Sikes is a master engine machinist that has relocated here from the Colorado/Wyoming area to partner with us.  The Race Shop is a full time hi-performance engine machine shop. We do all machining in-house except crank grinding.  We use all high end Sunnen equipment and Serti cutters.  We do head and manifold porting, flow bench testing and development services.  We have a new DTS engine dyno and dyno cell as well as two additional dynos with one more to be installed.

The Race Shop also maintains a full line of performance racing parts including VP Racing Fuels, Alcohols, lubricants. They maintain a 'WD' (warehouse distributor) status with many of their vendors including, Mark Williams, Strange Engineering, Brodix, Manley, Precision Engine and Turbo, Innovative Motorsports, Erson Cams, Callies, Probe, JE/SRP, MSD, RPM, Accel DFI, Aurora Bearing, PSI Driveshaft, Dart and World Products, Titan oil pumps and clutches, Peterson Fluid Systems dry sump products and much more. We  also stock the largest supply of Chromoly aircraft tubing in Wisconsin.

The Staff:

Mike Holdridge is the owner of The Race Shop. Mike has built drag and circle track cars dating to the late 60's and early 70's. Mike started out as a mechanic, worked as a body man and painter, has an electronics degree and 15 years experience, computer and computer network engineer, EMT, commercial diver, welder and finally returned to chassis building in the mid 90's. Mike's experience in chassis building encompasses all aspects of drag racing. He has built 5.5 sec fuel cars to alcohol and pro-mod cars, local pro-stock and funny cars and altereds to bracket and street cars. Like Charlie, Mike has experience building, driving and tuning some of the fastest cars anywhere. Mike is also Wisconsin's IHRA Chassis Certification specialist. As such Mike performs chassis inspections, provides feedback and comments as to current and future needs as well as repetitive chassis problems being encountered in the field.

Charlie Sikes has built some of the fastest motors in the rocky mountain area for years.  From street cars, to all out race cars. Drag race, race boat, sprint and midget engines to Bonneville salt flat motors are his specialty.  He excels in hi-performance. Charlie is an outstanding tuner and has been tuning blown, EFI, and alcohol cars for many years.  Charlie was an instructor at Wyotech in the hi-performance chassis fab and engine department  He also worked as an R&D specialist and sales manager at Accel DFI.  Charlie's knowledge and experience is second to few in the Wisconsin area and is a welcome addition to the Race Shop community. Charlie has built and tuned the fastest F-2 Pro-charger small block motor in the country and many other interesting blown, turbo and nitrous race packages.

Evan Uerkwitz comes to The Race Shop via WyoTech also. Evan graduated at the top of his class in Motorsports Chassis Fabrication, Hi Performance Engine Building and Collision Refinishing. Prior to tech school, Evan worked as a welder in both a production shop MIG welding and in a custom tank shop building TIG welding stainless. Evan has a broad interest and knowledge in turbo and hi performance drag race motors and chassis. Since coming to The Race Shop, Evan has built some of the "Baddest" turbo headers around. He has mounted pro-stock fiberglass bodies, front and back halfed steel bodied cars, built or repaired 25.1e, 25.2, 25.4 and 25.5 chassis cars and is custom building turbo, headers and intercooler systems. Can't wait to see what he does next.
